locked posts, and dw invite codes

most of my posts here are set to private, and they are set that way for a reason. please do not repost any of your comments to my posts to your fb or twitter.

on a similar note, i have dw invite codes. anyone want one? i think a paid dw account is on my list of things to do very shortly.

How will you know if people are reposting comments to FB or Twitter?

K.

You don't have minions? You seem like someone who should have minions.

She does, but they are very small and more likely to eat the computer than be able to understand the Internet, and even if they could, they would be VERY HELPFUL if anyone asked and/or offered pets and/or treats.

In my experience, third parties will helpfully tell you!

The pingback feature would tell her, actually.

You can just turn it off, you know, so people can't do that without good ol' copy-and-paste:
Go here:
http://www.livejournal.com/manage/settings/?cat=extensions
Do NOT select the following:
- Publish my comments to FaceBook by default.
- Publish my comments to Twitter by default.
Click Save.

The checkboxes will still appear but be disabled. Actually, it looks like kalmn already did this. Good job!

Wow! I didn't even know that people could do that..or would do that...and here I've been working so hard to stay off of FB and Twitter.

Thanks!

publish *my* comments-- the way that is worded, it seems to affect comments that i write, not ones that other people write in my lj.

i don't have my accounts linked, which is why they're disabled. do you have yours linked?

[identity profile] birdfigment.livejournal.com 2010-09-02 07:31 pm (UTC)(link)
Sorry. I thought this would also prevent OTHER people from doing this, but apparently I was foolishly optimistic. (No, I do not have mine linked.)

I can imagine posting my feelings on something you post here on Facebook. But I doubt it would be a word-for-word thing, or trackable back to you. It would be much more likely to be an issues article that I repost and respond to, something like that.

Ultimately, I do feel that as long as I'm not invading anyone's privacy, my words are my own. And I will not be using any automatic repost function.

It's kind of a moot point, as I rarely post anything of substance to Facebook, anyway. *shrug*

I'd like a dw invite code. I'm starting to be a little uneasy with lj's changes.

invite sent to the email on your profile page!

Both pants and I were wondering if you have tried importing your lj contents. Mostly we are curious what security level the imported entries come in as.
