domestic violence leading to murder in the paper again

i am so so so so sick of stories in the paper about men abusing their wives and children, the wives getting a restraining order, the men getting jail time, the men killing their wives and children, and the wives being posthumously lectured on not reaching out for help.

'"I would plead with anybody who is suffering, even a small bit in a home where there's domestic violence, to please reach out for help," Banovetz said.'

her case wasn't presented to prosecutors. it was treated as a misdeameanor, not a felony. she did everything right, and the system failed her.

I have nothing insightful to comment on this. You're right, it's sickening.

I see a slight translation error there.

"If you are suffering a little bit from domestic violence, and you feel like antaganising your assailant, being called a liar in public, and having multiple humiliating police interviews, please reach out for help."

Ye gods. It's got to take some serious blinders to give the "Trust the system" speech when you're standing at the scene of a murder of someone who was failed by the system.

I'm sorry that only one of this woman's abusers is going to be charged with a crime.
