convention dressing

heeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeelp.

so. fogcon. in the bay area. march 11-13. having a dressup party on friday night.

heeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeelp.

normally i'd throw the corset in the suitcase, but i am leaving my corset lacer here in minnesota. i am not against volunteer corset lacers, you understand. however. a person likes some options.

heeeey. one assumes that the hotel will be all right with us dressing as if we were, you know, at a convention. so, i have this black blazer, and this one shirt, and a pair of jeans.... hm. hmmmm. that sounds not very exciting but i will be lobbying against pictures of it on the internets. if it works, anyhow. i will have to try it on. hey serene? will the polyflock be at somewhere similarly amenable, or ought a person bring a tshirt? heck, a person might bring a tshirt anyhow.

ooh, also! HEATED OUTDOOR POOL. IN MARCH. frozen northerners, who's with me for swimming?

It takes time, but one can lace oneself into a corset with the help of doorknobs (hook the loops at the waist over the door knob)

5f, feels like -12f here right now. do you know how warm it's going to be in california in two weeks? it's going to be ABOVE FREEZING, that's how warm it's gonna be. yahoooo!

I am so bringing my suit (plus my neoprene socks to keep my toes cozy). I just hope the pool is sheltered from the breezes, cause that's what is most chilling.

If it helps, dress-up is going to be a wide range of different things. I'm wearing a flowing teal Igigi evening gown -- I bought it for a wedding a few years ago and have never had a chance to wear it since. Michele is wearing a glittery cocktail dress in gunmetal grey, although she often dresses high butch.
