my mom has cancer, some friends who i love are having a hard time at the moment, there's snow up to my midthigh, the mailcarrier hasn't brought me anything that didn't immediately get pitched into the recycling all week, and no matter how many loads of dishes and laundry i do there's always more.

tell me something good that's happening.

i'll start-- the piratedog is trying to wedge herself into the back of my pants (you might have to like dogs for that one to be fun) and the juggler is on his way home from work at which point we will make and eat dinner, since i am working from home today.

After five or six years, my cat has figured out how to sit comfortably on my lap, and has been spending a lot of time there in the last fortnight or so. (He solved sitting on cattitude's lap almost as soon as we got him.)

I am enjoying Stargate SG-1, and I was relieved to find I do not regret buying the whole ten-season set. (I'm only up into S4, but with four enjoyable seasons it's already worth the price I got it at.)

I have a relatively clean kitchen and bathroom, because Nate and I cleaned on Sunday.

There are three snoozy cats in various parts of my living room.

Not only does this bag o' oranges taste good, but I'm remembering to eat them.

(Our German Shepherd never tried to climb into my pants; perhaps it's a thing for smaller dogs.)

One of my cats regularly climbs into people's pants, but only when one has one's pants down to use the toilet. (Then he hangs out there for as long as one lets him.)

My cats seem to have adapted admirably to the new home in a very short time. They are enjoying running around, climbing on the new-to-them cat climby thing (found near the dumpster for free!), and exploring the whole place. Tigra (the brown and white one) was enjoying poking her head between the rails of the upstairs to look down at us yesterday evening. It was so nice to sleep in our new home with our kitties!
