so, as some of you may know, i was looking for a job this spring, and then i had one last interview that i thought had gone awfully, and i posted here on a filter saying that i was done looking for jobs for a while and was just going to stick where i was for another year if not longer.
can you hear the foreshadowing music?
they called me back, and offered me the job (i was very confused. i was like "hello guy from company! you're not going to hire me so i don't understand why you're calling me. it's very polite to blow me off in person, though", but fortunately i only thought those things not said them because then he offered me the job.)
i start on the 25th. anyone else work in hopkins? anyone else live in st paul and work in hopkins because boy am i not looking forward to the commute?
also, we got a new dog.
also also, my sister and her boyfriend got engaged.
so, july has been a busy month.
what's up with you?

Date: 2011-07-13 03:59 am (UTC)I just got back from hiking in a Wisconsin park, since the jackass Republicans in the legislature closed the Minnesota ones to prove some stupid point or other. It was a beautiful park, full of birds and dragonflies and rivers and waterfalls. As we paid our out-of-state fee, I thought, "Take that, Minnesota Republicans!" But I don't think they care.
Aside from the legislature, things are pretty good. My lilies are blooming and I might have some tomatoes.

What's up with me: busy, but not with really momentous stuff. Just life, which is involving a lot of weekends away from home this month.

Date: 2011-07-14 04:03 am (UTC)My best friend is rather spectacularly imploding, which sucks out loud. And there was some really irritating fuckery around my flight reservations earlier. But I had a customer service rock star on my side, and things got better. So right now I'm in Miami Beach for a really amazing conference, in a lovely room from which I can see water. And soon someone will bring me a sandwich, some fruit, a creme brulee, and some overpriced wine. And I'm watching a special on Harry Potter. So things could definitely be worse.
